Brisach savoir faire

Brisach considers that a fireplace or stove must be both very beautiful and efficient. However, control over the technical aspects of fire is the sine qua non of any creative fireplace idea.

Taming fire and understanding its workings in order to obtain the highest efficiency for each type of use is an extremely complicated task. Many variables (fuel quality, air supplies and flows, changes in parameters caused by temperature variations) come into play and are not always easy to control. Thanks to its technical mastery of fire, Brisach has devised a high-performance combustion chamber that can be adapted to any creative style.

The beauty of a fireplace or stove comes primarily from how it reflects how prospective customers live at home. Understanding how a fireplace or stove works and how a space is laid out and decorated helps in selecting the right lines and materials.

RAW MATERIAL PROCUREMENT

Brisach uses a diverse array of raw materials to manufacture its fireplaces and stoves. Most come from natural sources, such as stone, wood, metal, glass and ceramic. Each is selected based on continuous field research and stringent demands on suppliers.
A portion of the stone used is extracted from quarries owned by the Brisach group.

MACHINING – CARVING

Sawing of stone blocks
All the stone used by Brisach is delivered as blocks or slices weighing several tonnes. Machines are used to cut or saw them into the sizes needed for carving.

The stone is then carved into more or less intricate shapes
CNC machinery is used in the case of soft stone. Marble stone is usually worked by hand.

Stone carving
Stone carvers use their skills to sculpt stone into intricate shapes and designs; carving is also used to create blocks of typical stone (e.g. rubble stone and slate).

Masonry
Hearths, stone lintels and certain blocks of stone are bonded with refractory cement.

MWoodwork
Wood mantels, optional wood bookcases and other woodwork is carved and treated by craftsmen.

Assembly
Each firebox and stove is assembled according to strict procedures.

Packing and quality control
Parts provided directly by each workshop or taken from stock are then added to your fireplace or stove. During packing, each crate is thoroughly checked for damaged or missing parts.

Shipment
Each crate in your order is then placed in our shipping area to be taken by a logistics partner selected for the quality of its shipping services.
